Grade properties :

This grade is titanium stabilized having nickel and chromium austenitic stainless steel. It has very good strength, excellent corrosion resistance and supplied in the annealed conditions. It is known for high corrosion resistance in general atmospheric corrosive regions. It has very good resistivity to many oxidizing agents, most organic chemical and plus a wide range of inorganic compounds.

Alloy 321 demonstrates higher oxidation resistance at higher temperatures and has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion and having very good weldability. This grade cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but hardness and strength can be improved by the cold working operations. This operation also leads to some loss of ductility. This grade is non-magnetic in nature in the annealed condition; it turns to mild magnetic after the cold working operations.

Furthermore, it has excellent low temp properties with increased yield and tensile strength with some loss of toughness.
