Stainless Steel 309 Seamless Pipes are austenitic nickel-chromium stainless steel pipes that are mainly used in high-temperature applications. These alloys of pipes are used in sulfur-containing atmospheres up to 1832 degree F. The pipes are highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation at soaring temperatures. The alloy of pipes withstands high pressures and mechanical stress that can work in many corrosive and high-temperature atmospheres. However under non-cyclic circumstances, the pipes resist excellent oxidation up to 1038 degree C. Furthermore these are used in slightly oxidizing, thermal cycling and nitriding applications.

After long term exposure at soaring temperature, this alloy of pipes is prone to Intergranular corrosion. Due to the presence of chromium content, the pipes feature superior corrosion resistance than other heat resistant alloys. The pipes exhibit good tensile strength, hardness, and toughness at elevated temperatures. Therefore with regard to continuous and intermittent services, these show good scaling resistance. The pipes are formed and processed by standard fabrication practices. These are hot worked at 1177 degree C pursued by reheating at 982 degrees C. Moreover these are rapidly quenched. In addition to these pipes are drawn, upset, headed and stamped. Therefore the annealing of these pipes is performed after the cold working process in order to minimize internal stress and pressures. The pipes are readily welded by the standard welding process including MIG, TIG and SAW methods that assures to achieve superior weldability.
