These tubes are standard 18/8 stainless steel tubes. Alloy 304 tubes are the most versatile and most widely used stainless steel grade ideal for a wider range of applications offered in many form and finishes. It has great welding and forming characteristics. It has balanced austenitic structures. It has the ability to be severely deep drawn without fluctuating annealing operations. This operation made this grade tube dominant in the use of tubing applications.

For special applications, deep drawing quality variants are used. SS 304 grade can be readily braked or roll formed a variety of components for application in tubing structures. It has outstanding welding properties and can be welded by all standard process. In the thin section, there is no need to post-weld annealing. Moreover low carbon variant of 304 alloys will not require post weld annealing even in the heavy component. The higher carbon variant of alloy finds useful in the elevated temperature applications. It has an austenitic structure that gives excellent toughness even in the lower temperatures.
