Product description

Stainless Steel 347 Welded Pipes are stabilized chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel pipes containing columbium and tantalum content. The austenitic steel plates offer good resistance to general corrosion. Furthermore, it somewhat features better resistance to strong oxidizing circumstances in comparison to other grades. These alloys of pipe demonstrate superior resistance to intergranular corrosion at elevated environments. These also show good creep strength and resistance to oxidation at a temperature above 537 degree C. In addition to it possesses good low-temperature toughness in hostile atmospheres.

Due to the presence of tantalum and columbium content, the pipes are stabilized against the chromium carbide formation. Furthermore, this content ensures a stronger affinity of carbon, thus these elements carbide precipitation within the grains instead of forming at the grain boundaries. The pipes are suitable for higher strength at a temperature above 1000 degree C. The pipes excellently resist diluted organic acids at a moderate temperature whereas phosphoric acid in low temperature. In addition to these also resist polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking in hydrocarbon services.

With the standard shop fabrication practice, these pipes are easily formed and welded. However, these alloys of pipe require intermittent heating in between temperature 800-1650 degree F. These pipes are both hot and cold worked and in addition to attain good weldability of pipes these are carried out through traditional welding methods.
