Alloy information-

Stainless steel 304 is one of the most commonly used stainless steel alloy. This steel is having nickel alloy in between 2-10.5% and chromium 15-20% as the important non-iron constituents. 304 SS is austenitic stainless steel that is less thermally and electrically conductive and is a non-magnetic alloy. It is having greater corrosion resistance ability and it is extensively used due to formability property. Alloy 304 SS is having good resistance at wide ranges of atmospheric conditions and several corrosive media. This alloy is subjected to crevice corrosion and pitting in hot chloride atmosphere and to SSC (stress corrosion cracking) above temperature ranging 60 Deg C. It is pitting resistant in water having 400 MG/L chloride at elevated temperature, getting reduce to 150 MG/L at a temperature ranging 60 Deg C.
