About grade -

Stainless steel 316Ti is a titanium stabilized version of molybdenum bearing austenitic stainless steel. it is from the family of 316 grade offers great resistance to general corrosion and pitting corrosion. This grade has better crevice corrosion resistance than conventional chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel. This grade offers higher stress to rupture, creep and tensile strength at higher temperatures. This grade is susceptible to sensitization. The formation of grain boundary chromium carbides at a temp between 900 deg F to 1500 deg F results in rapid corrosion.

The lower carbon version is resistive to sensitization; however, extended exposures in this temp range will result in sensitization of even in the low carbon grade. Sensitization resistance property is achieved in this grade with the addition of titanium in stabilized structures.

Stainless Steel 316Ti Seamless Tubes can be used for extended periods at higher temp without losing its corrosion resistance properties.
