Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Welded Pipes are one of the most versatile and durable pipes that found its utility in various industrial applications. These grades of pipes are designed from duplex stainless steel that is an austenitic-ferritic alloy extensively used in various corrosive media. In addition to these includes molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen content that exhibits superior resistance to crevice and chloride pitting corrosion. Furthermore, these pipes show excellent resistance in marine environments as well as in brackish water. The pipes result in excellent mechanical properties that are capable to cope with high-stress circumstances.
Even more, these features good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and sulfide stress corrosion resistance in tough climatic circumstances. The pipes possessed high tensile strength, hardness, and toughness. The solution treatment of the pipes is performed at 1020-1100 degree C and is rapidly cooled. Therefore these pipes are not hardened from thermal treatment. Similarly, the hot working of this pipe is done at a temperature range of 954-1149 degree C. However the hot working of the pipes is recommended under room temperature whenever it is possible. On the other hand, the welding of pipes is done by traditional welding methods such as MIG, TIG or manual covered electrode methods.
