What Is the Difference between ASTM A335 P11 and
P22 Pipe?
ASTM A335 P11 and P22 pipes are both alloy steel pipes that are used
in various industries such as power generation, petrochemical and
chemical processing. The main difference between them is the
composition of their alloying elements. ASTM A335 P11 has a
ferritic-martensitic structure made up of chromium (Cr), molybdenum
(Mo), manganese (Mn) and small amounts of carbon, phosphorus and
sulfur. On the other hand, ASTM A335 P22 is composed of
chromium-molybdenum steel with an addition of both silicon and
phosphorus. As a result, P22 can withstand temperatures up to 700°F
while ASTM A335 P11 is only able to support temperature to a maximum
of 450°F. Additionally, the ductility and strength of both alloys
differ significantly as P11 offers greater impact properties while
P22 showcases superior toughness when compared to its counterpart.
What Are the Different Ways That P11 Pipe Can Be
Used?
P11 pipe is a type of steel pipe that is commonly used in the
construction and engineering industry due to its high strength and
resistance to many corrosive elements. P11 pipe suppliers offer a
variety of sizes and options, so there are numerous ways in which
p11 pipes can be utilized. For example, p11 pipes are often used for
machinery that works with water exposure, as the material is capable
of standing up to temperatures up to about 500 ℃. Additionally, p11
